Suggested clothing and equipment:
Athletic socks, running shoes, shorts, t-shirt, towel, sweatshirt, water bottle, drinks, snacks, lunch, and sunscreen, throwing/jumping/spikes (if you have them)!

Weekly Highlights:
Monday: Baseline time/jump/throw trials in all events, training, conditioning, speakers (story of sport)
Tuesday: Grade level rotating events training & guest trainer or speaker (sports nutrition)
Wednesday: Grade level rotating events training & guest trainer or speaker (story of sport)
Thursday: Individual Assessment, Part 1 of 2 Day Track and Field Meet - Decathlon Scoring System
Friday: Team Competition, Part 2 of 2 Day Track and Field Meet, awards & recognition ceremony
Monday: Baseline time/jump/throw trials in all events, training, conditioning, speakers (story of sport)
Tuesday: Grade level rotating events training & guest trainer or speaker (sports nutrition)
Wednesday: Grade level rotating events training & guest trainer or speaker (story of sport)

The weekly training schedule is subject to change depending on group size, weather, and the needs of individual participants.
Nutrition plays an important part in a young athlete’s performance and good health. This will be covered in our sports nutrition seminars and demonstrations.

Currently the MIAA Track and Field Coach of the Year (2014), Taylor is the Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Norton High School for 7 years. His Track and Field and Cross County Teams have won several league titles. In 2014, his spring track team won the Massachusetts State Relays. He has coached state champions, a new England Champion, and multiple nationals qualifier elite athletes. Taylor has been named Tri-Valley League Coach of the Year 10 times in 7 years, a Boston Globe Track and Field Coach of the Year (2012), and a multiple time Taunton Daily Gazette Coach of the Year (2011-2014). Taylor ran at the University of Vermont and held a record there in the 4x800. He currently is sponsored by the Brooks Running Company (Seattle, WA) through their ID Program.

Current member of Adelphi University Track and Field Team. Norton native Brenna Gonsalves brings enthusiasm and excitement as a coach! Her list of accolades are impressive:

Coach Lars Tenglin:

A Norton native, Lars Tenglin comes back home after having an impressive throwing career both as an athlete and as a coach. He was the North Park University Throws Coach (2011-2012) and coached several All-CCIW athletes, 2012 CCIW Champion in Javelin who went on to finished 8th at NCAA Division III Nationals and reach All-American Status. He has also been a volunteer Javelin Coach at Wheaton College MA, Fall of 2012. He has also been a volunteer Javelin Coach at The University of North Dakota, Spring of 2013.His accolade list is extensive as well:

Coach Gretchen Stalters:

Gretchen was a sprinter/hurdler/jumper in high
school and held the Connecticut State record for many years in both the 100 m
hurdles and was a member of the State winning 4 x 100 relay team. She was selected to the Eastern Conn.
All-Conference team for 3 years. She still
holds 4 high school records and was inducted into the Stonington High School
Athletic hall of Fame in 2009. Gretchen graduated from the University of
Connecticut with a degree in Nutrition in 1986 and currently has her own
business as a Nutrition Consultant in the area. She has volunteered helping with the Attleboro
YMCA Jaguar Track program and with the Norton High School Indoor and Outdoor
Track teams. Gretchen enjoys helping the athletes understand
the importance of good nutrition in order to perform well on the track.

We will also have Bellingham's 800 Meter STATE CHAMPION who joins us for some tips and training. Some of Sarah's accolades include: MVP of the Tri-Valley League (2014), 1st place overall in 800 & mile at TVL Championships, 1st Place 800 & Mile Fresh/Soph Meet (2014) and was named "Outstanding Runner of the Meet," 1st Place in the 800 at the State Coaches Invitational (2014) and was named "Outstanding Runner of the Meet." Sarah's PR's include: 400-58.8, 800-2:14.16, 1 Mile-5:04.80, 2 Mile-11:12.8.
**During the week we will have guest speakers and top level athletes stopping by to offer insights into specific sports and share their athletic experiences with the group.
